(BIG!) Smooth News: George Benson Is Joining Us in ’22!
The Smooth Jazz Cruise is excited to announce several more updates for the 2022 cruises!
Already filled with more Artists than any Smooth Jazz cruise program ever produced, The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22: Back to Sea Sailing is proud, humbled and excited to be adding 10-Time Grammy Award Winner George Benson to the lineup! George was the first Special Guest on our Saturday Night with Marcus Miller & Friends streaming concert series. He had such a good time that the subject of performing on the cruises came up. After checking schedules, we saw that The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22: Back to Sea Sailing (January 24 – 31, 2022) was the best fit for his schedule.
Once the plans for George’s shows and events on the ship are finalized, we will share them with you in more detail, but be assured that The Greatest Party at Sea will be even greater in ’22 with the amazing George Benson onboard! After all, there is only one George Benson!
Kirk Whalum Added to Both Sailings of
The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22:
Diamond Celebration Sailings!
Not to be outdone, The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22: Diamond Celebration Sailings, which will commemorate the 30th and 31st editions of this amazing program in 2022, has a huge lineup announcement of its own. Kirk Whalum has been a prominent part of most of those sailings, so it is only right that he be there for these important milestones.
As a multiple Grammy nominee and 2011 Grammy winner, Kirk Whalum’s talents give him entry into all aspects of the jazz world as well as Gospel and R&B. Always sartorially resplendent, Kirk continues to embody all that is right and good in the world and our genre.
Forever known for his iconic solo in Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” Kirk is a true star and pillar in the world of music.
Updated Itinerary for the Back to Sea Sailing
Recently, the citizens of Key West voted to limit the size of cruise ships that can dock and call upon that island city. Appeals are pending, but we were forced to find another port of call for The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22: Back to Sea Sailing. At the same time, we were also working on ways to accommodate George Benson’s schedule for that cruise.
As it stands now, we will visit Costa Maya and Cozumel on back to back days and add Nassau for our final day. Doing so completes the itinerary and provides us with some great options as to our plans for Benson and David Sanborn.
Updated Payment Plans … Act Nowfor the No Deposit Plan!
Given the absence of Sailings in 2021, the Payment Plans offered throughout this year have varied from our norm. As we approach a more customary time frame before sailing, the Payment Plans will be the more conventional monthly and quarterly selections, with one major difference: If you complete your reservation before January 31, 2021, NO DEPOSIT WILL BE REQUIRED.
Payment Plans Effective for Reservations Completed Before January 31, 2021:
Monthly Payment Plan: NO DEPOSIT. Ten (10) equal monthly payments, each on the first of every month beginning 2/1/21 and ending 11/1/21.
Quarterly Payment Plan: NO DEPOSIT. Four (4) equal payments on 2/15/21, 5/15/21, 7/15/21 and 10/15/21.
Individualized payment plans may be arranged as well.
Keeping You In Tune & Up to Date for
Your Sailing of The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22
More than ever before, keeping you apprised of the details of your cruise program is very important to us. With the postponements, cancellations and updates we have incurred during the past months and with more than 400 days before any of The Smooth Jazz Cruise ’22 sailings set sail, we need to make sure that you have the most accurate, up to date and clear information about the cruise program you selected.
Further, the particulars of boarding the ship in ’22 will evolve over time as circumstances change. Though we would like to believe that by the time we sail in ’22 the process will similar to the norms we experienced before the pandemic, it is likely that some of the new guidelines will still be in effect or permanently included. Any rule or regulation that makes cruising safer and healthier is welcomed.
Our plan to keep you informed at all times includes three different forms of communications: Smooth News, Get Ready Notice, Ready to Board Notice and Special Notices!
Smooth News (this notice) – Published monthly, in addition to providing you with programming updates and inside information about the Artists and Musicians performing on the cruises, we will share any new information about cruise procedures, onboard activities and programs, and ports-of-call. Smooth News is sent to both booked guests and those who have requested information about the cruises in general. As such, more granular cruise information will be shared in other correspondence.
Get Ready Notice – Prepared in a booklet form, your Get Ready Notice will be a comprehensive presentation of a wide variety of cruise matters, ranging from pre-cruise reservations for dining, beverage packages and more, to what to wear on the cruise, to what type of identification is required for sailing. We anticipate sending the Get Ready Notice to you on or before Labor Day. More than any other notice you will receive from us, the Get Ready Notice should be reviewed carefully and completely.
Ready to Board Notice – There is always a few last-minute changes, reminders or helpful hints that we need to share with you right up to Embarkation Day. Our best way to alert you accordingly is through our Ready to Board Notice that is sent no sooner that 8 days before sailing and may be sent out as late as the day before. We are examining ways to also provide this information by text or through a link on our website as well.
Special Notices to Booked Guests Only – To borrow a line from FedEx, “when it absolutely, positively has to be (told) overnight,” we send a Special Notice to Booked Guests Only. Depending upon the circumstances we may resend the notice to those who did not “open” the first mailing and we may attempt to trace the path of the message to ensure it is received.
If you are ever concerned that you have missed a message or an update, all of the information denoted in this note and previous Smooth News emails will be listed chronologically under “CRUISE NEWS & GUEST CORRESPONDENCE” on The Smooth Jazz Cruise’s website under the “Cruise Info” and “Booked Guest” dropdown bars.
Finally, our staff is available to you from 9am – 5 pm CT Monday through Thursday and from 9am – 4pm CT on Fridays. Just call us at 844.616.6279. If you have a question outside of office hours, send it to us at email@example.com and we will answer it as soon as possible.
We hope you know that we are here to serve you! It is your cruise, your vacation and your decision to sail with us. Our commitment to ensuring that our Guests have the very best cruise experience possible will always be our #1 priority.
